Yard Maintenance

All,

It is that time of year again and I’ve already started receiving complaints about yard maintenance so I wanted to go ahead and send out a reminder to please keep your lot properly mowed and maintained. Weeds in flower beds and yards seem to always be the biggest problem. Treating your lawn for weeds will significantly reduce the number of times you need to mow. It reflects poorly on the neighborhood when we have a bunch of yards with un-mowed grass and tall weeds and is unfair to everyone else. Dead trees also need to be addressed.

The Board will start sending out demand letters to those in violation of Article IV, Section (b) of the Covenants and Restrictions regarding maintenance of lawns and plantings. If the owner fails to perform such maintenance in a reasonable amount of time, the HOA shall have the right to have this work done and bill the cost back to the owner of the lot under Article VII of the Declaration. Feel free to send us any addresses that are not in compliance. Keep in mind we now have over 700 occupied homes in The Grove so it is hard for the Board to keep track of every lawn in the neighborhood at all times.

You can also call the City of OKC Action Center at 297-2535 or go online and report the same. They too will send out violation letters and do the work if it is not taken care of, which will also be billed back to the owner.

Thanks in advance for your attention to this issue.
