Both Pools Open This Saturday May 26th

All,

Sorry for the long email, but please read through this info regarding both pools this summer:

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR POOL/CLUBHOUSE:

The north or original pool will be referred to as the KID POOL. They are finishing up plastering both pools today and they will be ready to open this Saturday, May 26th and will will be open through Labor Day. Pool hours are: Tuesday – Thursday 12:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 – 8:00 pm, Closed on Mondays except for holidays. Once school starts in August, the pool will only be open on Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 8pm and regular hours on Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day. Due to the number of requests we received to open the pool earlier during the week, the Board decided to open the pool at 10am on Fridays on a trial basis. We will decide whether to keep these additional hours permanent depending on how heavily they are utilized.

The south or new pool will be referred to as the ADULT POOL and will also open this Saturday, May 26th. The issues with the system that caused problems with the pool last summer have been repaired so it should be in much better shape this year and a new company has been hired to maintain it. The Board has decided to keep the Adult Pool open an additional 3 weeks after Labor Day, which means it will stay open through September 23rd. The Board has also decided to incorporate a lap time at the pool from 8am to 10am in order to give residents a window to swim laps if they would like to do so in peace and the pool is typically not busy this time of day anyway. Pool hours are: Monday and Wednesday – Sunday 8:00 am – 10:00 am (lap swim), 10:00 am – 10:00 pm (open swim) and will be Closed on Tuesdays. There WILL NOT be a lifeguard on duty so please be aware of that.

The rules are posted at both facilities, but I’m going to stress the following due to issues we have had in the past: THE POOL MANAGER AND LIFEGUARDS HAVE THE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO ENFORCE DISCIPLINE AROUND THE POOL AREA. If the Board is informed by the pool management company that certain residents are not following the rules or are being disrespectful, we will not hesitate to suspend your pool privileges. A few more important rules are as follows:

NO GLASS CONTAINERS allowed of any kind.
No pets allowed at the facilities.
All babies and toddlers must wear swim diapers until potty-trained.
No diving anywhere anytime. No running on pool deck.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
No food or drinks in the pool.
Please exit the pool and patio area in a timely manner during safety breaks, inclement weather and closing time.
Dispose of your trash in the provided trash cans.
There should be no tobacco (smokeless or otherwise) usage anywhere near the pool area.

A couple other things in general about the pool that we have had issues with in the past:

Please be sure to shut the exterior gate behind you when you enter and exit so that random people who do not live in the neighborhood can’t just walk in.

The pool will be very popular and crowded on weekends and holidays and we ask that you use discretion in how many guests that you might bring to the facility. I am not going to put a number on it, but I just ask that you respect your neighbor’s ability to use the facility as well. If this becomes a problem we will have to start checking IDs at the gate and charging guests to enter. Weekdays/weeknights are perfect times to bring a guest over to the facility, as these typically aren’t nearly as populated as the weekends.

Please remember to be courteous to your fellow neighbors and have a fun and safe Memorial Weekend and enjoy the pools this summer.

Thanks,
The Board
