All,
We believe we had an issue with the website sending out emails to all our members so we are going to go ahead and repost this message:
Please read through this information as we will have some additional rules/restrictions at the pools this summer due to COVID-19.
The north or original pool will be referred to as the KID POOL and it will be ready to open Saturday, May 23rd and will be open through Labor Day. Pool hours are: Tuesday – Thursday 12:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 – 8:00 pm, Closed on Mondays except for holidays. Once school starts in August, the pool will only be open on Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 8pm and regular hours on Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day.
The south or newer pool will be referred to as the ADULT POOL and will also open Saturday, May 23rd. The Board has decided to again keep the Adult Pool open an additional 2 weeks after Labor Day, which means it will stay open through September 20th. We will have lap time at the pool again this summer from 8am to 10am in order to give residents a window to swim laps if they would like to do so in peace and the pool is typically not busy this time of day anyway. Pool hours are: Monday and Wednesday – Sunday 8:00 am – 10:00 am (lap swim), 10:00 am – 10:00 pm (open swim) and will be Closed on Tuesdays. There WILL NOT be a lifeguard on duty at this pool.
According to the most recent information provided by the CDC and the Oklahoma County Health Department, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through treated pool water, as the virus is susceptible to destruction / inactivation by property sanitizer levels (chlorine/bromine). The Grove Homeowners Association will follow the recommendations of the Oklahoma County Health Department and our Pool Management Company whereby enforcing the following additional rules / restrictions for the Summer of 2020.
- All residents and guests swim at their own risk; which includes the risk of COVID-19 Virus contamination / infection.
- Comply with General Social Distancing Guidelines currently in place.
- Individuals / Family Groups must be separated by at least 6 feet, both in and out of the Water.
- Only 50% of the normal bathing load allowed in the pool area.
- Resident(s) cannot be in the Pool facility if they have had symptoms of COVID-19, such as: diarrhea in the last two weeks, cough, fever, chills, headache, sore throat, recent loss of taste or smell. This list is not all inclusive, please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are concerning to you.
- It is recommended residents bring their own disinfecting wipes to disinfect furniture and/or tables they have used.
- Please wash hands before entering the pool facility, even if you do not intend on swimming.
- Must shower before entering the pool.
- Extended and/or more frequent Safety Breaks may be taken to provide time to disinfect handles, ladders, handrails and other such surfaces that are frequently touched.
- In cases where compliance with these rules / restrictions are infeasible or cannot be achieved due to lack of cooperation by patrons or other issues, the pool will be closed indefinitely or until compliance can be achieved and maintained, or until the rules / restrictions are further relaxed.
Below are some highlights of our standard pool rules that will also be posted at the facility:
- THE POOL MANAGER AND LIFEGUARDS HAVE THE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO ENFORCE DISCIPLINE AROUND THE POOL AREA.
- NO GLASS CONTAINERS allowed of any kind.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years or older.
- No pets allowed at the facilities.
- All babies and toddlers must wear swim diapers until potty-trained.
- No diving anywhere anytime. No running on pool deck.
- No food or drinks in the pool.
- Please exit the pool and patio area in a timely manner during safety breaks, inclement weather and closing time.
- Dispose of your trash in the provided trash cans.
- There should be no tobacco (smokeless or otherwise) usage anywhere near the pool area.
A couple other things in general about the pool that we have had issues with in the past:
Please be sure to shut the exterior gate behind you when you enter and exit so that people who do not live in the neighborhood can’t just walk in.
The pool will be very popular and crowded on weekends and holidays and we ask that you use discretion in how many guests that you might bring to the facility, especially with the normal bathing load currently being reduced by 50%.
Please remember to be courteous to your fellow neighbors, be safe and enjoy the pools this summer.
