Pools/Golf Carts/Fitness Centers

All, below are a few quick notes on safety issues in the neighborhood.

Our pool management company at the south pool has reported that they continue to find glass bottles in the trash cans around the pool. As a reminder, there are NO glass bottles allowed in the pool area because if one breaks and gets in the pool we would need to completely drain the pool, vacuum the bottom and refill, which could take over a week to do. They have also said they are finding trash, food, empty cans, etc. in the pool almost every morning. Please eat and drink on the pool deck and throw away trash in the trash cans when done.

Please check the lost and found box and retrieve anything you would like back by the end of the weekend as it is overflowing and pool management is going to dump it on Monday.

It has been reported that there have been several close calls with golf cart drivers in the neighborhood and we just want to make sure that everyone is being as safe as possible. Please remind your kids not to text and drive and abide by the traffic signs in the neighborhood. We have asked the police department for clarification on what is needed to make a golf cart legal on city streets and have been told that City Code is conflicting on this and that golf carts can be classified as “low speed vehicles”, which allows them to operate only on streets with a speed limit of less than 35 mph. If you want more clarification please contact MSgt Bob Skalla at 405-316-5035.

Reminder that no motorized vehicles are allowed on the greenspace or walking trails.

Another reminder that nobody under the age of 16 should be in the fitness centers without adult supervision and nobody under the age of 12 should be using the equipment at all. These rules are simply in place due to safety and liability concerns.

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!
