Tree Master Plan Meeting/Arbor Day Event

Please see below from Jordan Atterberry, who is currently an advisor to the Board and is heading up this project for the neighborhood:

Dear Grove Neighborhood Residents,

We are excited to announce an upcoming community meeting that will focus on the future of our neighborhood’s green spaces. We’ve invited a renowned expert in the field of urban and community forestry, Bob Burchell, to guide us in understanding and shaping our Community Tree Master Plan.

About Bob Burchell:

Bob is an ISA Arborist Certified professional with a wealth of experience in various facets of urban forestry. His expertise spans from pest diagnosis, damage appraisal, tree preservation during construction, to community tree inventories and master plans. He has a particular knack for ensuring that trees are utilized, preserved, or relocated thoughtfully during land development and construction projects.

What to Expect:

Bob will provide insights into what a Community Tree Master Plan typically encompasses. While these plans are generally broad in nature, they serve as a guiding framework for the sustainable management and enhancement of our community’s green spaces. After his presentation, we’ll open the floor for a discussion. This is your opportunity to share feedback, ideas, concerns, and any other input you might have. Topics often covered in such discussions include preferred tree species, locations for new plantings, and concerns about tree maintenance or preservation.

A Community Tree Master Plan is a strategic document that outlines the vision, goals, and strategies for planting, maintaining, and enhancing a community’s tree canopy. It serves as a roadmap for the sustainable management of our urban forest, ensuring that trees continue to provide environmental, aesthetic, and social benefits for years to come.

Meeting Details:

Date: October 17, 2023

Warm regards,

Jordan Atterberry
